IberFest

#art direction #branding

The briefing was to create a music festival, unique and fresh.

After careful research, I came to the concept of a music festival of Iberian alternative music. My goal was to unite the new generation of Portuguese and Spanish musicians.

It's important to notice that the world has started to rediscover  Portugal and Spain in the last decades. It seems that our culture, food, music and people and conquering the world and it is important that we create the tools for new connections and synergies.

Historically, the Iberian Peninsula has been associated with the Ebro river - Iberos in ancient Greek and Iberus or Hiberus in Latin.
The roots of the naming come from a time when this territory borders were very different from what we know today.

As for the graphic concept, I joined union and symbiosis. Through connected circles, we united two cultures, without fully merging them together, keeping their essence and independence.

Regarding colours, we have the deep blue from our seasoceans and rivers and the yellow from our sunny days and south landscape. These two colours represent our diversity and contrast, which can be seen in nature, but also in our culture and people.

As for the typefaces, simple and formal san serif, that complement the graphic elements.
